You all have heard that same story…”I am so over my 9-5 job. I want something more fulfilling.” There are so many people who say this, but very few actually do something about it.
Makeup was a side hustle for me and now it’s my main squeeze! I absolutely love what I do and get so much joy from it. How did I get to this place in my life? It’s because I decided to take action and actually invest in myself. Is it easy? No way! Is it challenging? Of course! Can it be overwhelming? At times. But despite all the obstacles, it is extremely rewarding and satisfying.
I enrolled in the Elite Bridal Mastery Program by Jenny Torry and let me tell you, that it was the BEST decision I have ever made. I had to unlearn and relearn what I knew, which can be tough. We tend to stay stuck in our own ways, but the only way to grow is to accept and learn new things. By doing this, all of my makeup skills leveled up and I learned new skills along the way like bridal hair as well! The bells and whistles of the program are nice, but the best part of it all is the value and time that Jenny gives. In order to move forward, you need help. You need that support and push from someone that has been there and done that. She is not just a mentor, she’s a coach and a phenomenal one at that. You don’t want someone that will sugar coat everything for you. Part of investing in yourself is being able to take constructive criticism and transforming it into some sort of action.
The toughest part about starting your own business is the actual business part. Where do you begin? The legal filing, the website, the social media content, creating the agreements, creating the packages, etc. There are so many components, you can get lost very easily. This program helped with everything! Held me accountable for all my work and made sure I got everything done. Jenny and her team worked hard to help me get to where I am. You can’t do things alone and a strong support system is something everyone needs. So when I say I invested in myself, I truly went all in! There was no looking back and I just had to keep pushing forward.
My family is my life. I have a loving husband and two beautiful little girls. I want to be an inspiration to all three of them. I want them to know that you can do whatever you want in life, without judgment from others and any sort of outside pressure. However, I also want them to know that it’s not always sunshine and roses, you can and are allowed to have off days. Being there for one another and having a strong and open communication line can help anyone overcome any sort of doubt or worry. On those days is when you reflect and remember why you chose the path you’re on in the first place; it will always bring you back to home.
